I Would Hardly Call This Idle Curiosity
Today Rachel and I are off to see Equus on Broadway (Rachel, you do know you are the coolest person IN THE WORLD for taking me, yes?). I won’t lie: 50% of why I’m excited about going is OMG NEKKID DANIEL RADCLIFFE (I don’t care if he’s four years younger than me; he is over the legal age now, thank you). The other 50% is made up of equal parts curiosity about his acting abilities outside cinema and Harry Potter and enjoyment of theatre itself. I haven’t seen a play since I’ve returned from London three years ago (heinous!) and I’m looking forward to it. It’ll be like I’m 18 years old and in New York for the first time again.
Rachel will be offering me her critique on the first draft of Elijah’s Chariot; of course, this is after I’ve revised the first act. I sent the revised version along as well and I look forward to hearing her thoughts over lunch.
I’ve been in rather more of a designing/drawing mood than writing lately, although I have been diligently plugging away at my edits. Last night, since my landlord didn’t see fit to turn on the heat (why, oh god, why?), I was inspired to scribble down this little doodle.
I have an idea for another design layout using the image. Of course this requires that I colour in the image. Someone once said that God was in the details and it’s absolutely true when it comes to art. Unfortunately, while I have an eye for line and composition, I have absolutely no patience for detail. I will never be a great artist, alas.
