Addendum to 2009 Resolutions
So I’ve decided to include an addendum to my 2009 resolutions. In the year 2009, I am going to make as many handmade gifts as possible. Or at least handmade paper goods.
Mostly I’ve been inspired by Little Brown Pen, which is essentially a print-on-demand shop. It’s amazing what some brilliant design and heavy cardstock paper can do!

Since two of my best friends have January birthdays, I figure it would be a good time to make good on that additional resolution. I went to Staples today and bought some 110lb heavy cardstock in addition to some envelopes to hopefully get started.
Recently I’ve been thinking of decorating my moleskine so when I saw some silver Sharpies I went ahead and bought them. What I actually been thinking of making was a scrapbook for movie stubs and theatre tickets with a Cahier moleskine, inspired by this notebook by Two Guitars. I would draw tickets stubs with Admit One written across them and popcorn and other little doodles related to entertainment.
I had sketched out what I’d like to put on the cover of my moleskine but unfortunately, they apparently don’t carry ultra-fine tip Sharpies in metallic silver at Staples so the result wasn’t exactly what I intended. I wanted to something a bit Art Deco-esque in terms of design with a zeppelin and Bauhaus type and a flattened look, but because I couldn’t quite achieve the level of detail I wanted, this is what I ended up with instead.
As far as my other resolutions go, revisions are still a naught but I’ve been very good on the South Beach Diet today. Tonight I shall attempt another 20 minutes of yoga, although I am so extraordinarily sore from last night (a testament to how out of shape I am) I’m not sure how far I’ll get. Meep.
By the way? Printing on envelopes is really, really annoying.
