I think my favorite is Jack Sparrow - the pirate with a heart of gold. And he'd sell it if he could take it out. I strive to make my 'bad boy' characters more of a rogue. They're not breaking the rules of their existance because the heroine is the special 'snowflake. No, they've already been breaking the rules. Now, they just have a fire lit under their butt that gives more meaning to their defiance. And I write my heroines with sass and the ability to figure things out for themselves. Even if they don't know it yet, that's the journey they are on - to find inner strength and conquer the odds. I’m with you on the Rogue!
