Tomorrow the winners of the St. Martin’s “New Adult” Contest will be announced! As I have asked Georgia McBride and the amazing people of YAlitchat for help, they will have the honour of hearing it first.

But you can hear it too! Join us for #YAlitchat on Twitter this Wednesday at 9pm EST as I announce the names of the winners.

There will be multiple “winners” from this contest, but the three I deem the most appropriate for what Dan and I are trying to publish will win a copy of TEMPTED by P.C. and Kristin Cast, a bestselling St. Martin’s title and a paranormal YA to boot.

How It Will Go Down

Georgia and I have been working out the timeline of how we want this go down. As it stands:

1. Wednesday, November 25 at 9pm EST: I will announce the names of the winners in lieu of a normal, topic-driven discussion on #YAlitchat on Twitter.
2. Immediately following #YAlitchat: The names and titles of winning submissions will be posted at the YAlitchat Ning. (Are you an aspiring YA writer? I suggest joining this community!)
3. Thursday, November 26: I post the names and titles of winning entries on my blog. (Happy Thanksgiving!)
4. Friday, November 27: An interview about this entire process.
5. Monday, December 1: Georgia lets you know what it was like reading submissions by posting full pitches and the initial editorial comments she sent to me.

Thanks to everyone for submitting! There is a lot of talent here and while I would have loved to request a lot of you, I’m afraid that due to the fact that there is only one of me, I must limit myself to 10 to 15. These are the 10 to 15 I think fit with what Dan and I are trying to publish–there were many more pitches that I would have loved to read more of, but were too YA or too not in the demographic for us.
