Bath Day!

Poor White-Harp. It’s been so long since I’ve given her a bath that she’s now kind of a Dingy Grey Harp. I did promise to give her a bath for her birthday (which was Wednesday), but I was a bad JJ and went gallivanting off to Lou Reed Girlfriend‘s apartment instead. Sorry!

Annoyed Harp

White-Harp is displeased with me. Mea culpa, mea culpa!

Anyway, I made good on my promise today and now we have a clean Harp! And pictures to prove it! Yes, the people at the laundromat did give me strange looks for taking photos of dirty linens. All for you, internet, all for you.

I usually wash White-Harp by hand first, which she likes to think of as a nice spa massage.

White-Harp in the Sink

White-Harp in her bathtub, which is actually my bathroom sink.

Some of the photos make her seem whiter than she was, but this is a good indicator of exactly how grey she’s become. Ouch, I’m such a bad Harp caretaker.

Oh Thank Heavens!

White-Harp hugs the Tide detergent with relief.

And now for her spa treatment!

A Nice Shower

Ooh? Is that a little cold for you, White-Harp?

Nice and Warm

Heeeeeeee. She looks so content like this. Nice and warm!

Starting White-Harp's Massage

Getting a good belly rub.

On a completely vain note, I have the hands of a nine-year-old child, no?

Getting Clean!

Tickle, tickle, tickle! She's looking cleaner already.

Turning Over

And now for her back.

Ah, That's Better!

Ah, that's better! She looks so much happier.

After a nice massage, it was time to make a stop at our local laundromat.

Waiting to be Laundered

White-Harp waits for her turn in the washing machine.

White-Harp usually goes for a spin with my bedlinens. I love her, but she’s not worth $1.75 to wash alone. Also, having sheets, pillowcases, and my duvet cover with her protects her.

Peeking Out Under Covers

White-Harp peeks out from the covers.

In addition to washing her with my bedlinens, I also tuck her inside a pillowcase for extra comfort.

Comfortable

Getting inside her pillowcase.

Tucked Inside

White-Harp is tucked inside the pillowcase and ready to be washed!

Going In

Going in! Last chance to back out, White-Harp.

Last Chance

No? Okay, well, too late now! Door's shut.

Whee!

Whee!!!! White-Harp goes for a spin.

And half an hour later…

All Done!

After an invigorating wash, White-Harp is now ready for a dry sauna.

Damp Harp

White-Harp's a little damp.

Dry Sauna Room!

White-Harp enters the dry sauna room.

And one hour later…

Clean Harp!

White-Harp emerges all pretty and clean.

Poor White-Harp. I promise to never let you go this long without a proper bath again. Look at how pretty you are all white and clean!
