Later, I Said Later
Internet, internet, I have meant to blog, truly I have. I have been mostly sidetracked by other things. Mostly, work. And books. And running. And…other things. I often think of topics or ideas to share with you all, but then forget it over the course of the day, which is filled with interesting things (like story conferencing with authors) and not-so-interesting things (like filling out mass market tip sheets).
What have I been up to? Not much. Psychic Roommate and I have been running our butts off all around the city and have just finished our last race of the year. We are now officially qualified for the 2011 ING New York City marathon. (And now I am pondering what exactly I’ve gotten myself into.)
In addition, I have seen this movie:
I have pondered the origins of the phrase “up my alley” (and English idioms in general). Which, incidentally, Black Swan totally is. It’s an artsy psychological horror film about ballet. I love every word-concept of that sentence. “Artsy”, “psychological”, “horror”, and “ballet”. It sometimes surprises people how much I love the grotesque and macabre, but remember, I’m the girl who loves gothic fiction, haunted houses, creepy stories, lurid melodrama, and feeling unsettled. After all, Halloween is my favourite holiday.
Other things that have happened in my life include this amazing book:

Did you all know Mr. T wrote an inspirational children's book? He did, and St. Martin's Press published it.
I mean, I’m not working on this or anything. I’m just glad this book exists. Or existed, rather, since it is no longer in print.
Not much else on the personal life front. I do promise to get back to the last installment of the Literary Crush series, as there is one significant crush archetype I haven’t discussed (but I am sure you can all probably guess what it is and who falls into it). Mostly I’m trying to keep my head above water before the year end, when I go home to California for a few weeks to spend time with my family and relax.
That’s all. Will write soon!

The only thing better than Mr. T’s title? Is Mr. T’s cover! Woooow.
Glad to hear you liked Black Swan. I really want to see it, but no one else I know does… -_-’
Can’t wait for the last crush!

It was released in New York on December 3rd. I thought I’d walk down to the theatre after work and catching a showing. All performances until 12:45am were sold out. (This was a Friday.)
So, I thought, surely a Saturday matinee performance wouldn’t be so crowded? I bought tickets ahead of time just to make sure. I got to the theatre 40 minutes before previews began. There was a line. A long one.
2pm. Saturday. Sold out.
It appears everyone had the same idea as me! I thought it was worth it though–I loved it, but I’m the sort of person who loves that kind of thing anyway.
