Resolutions 2010
As an INFJ, I’m someone who likes to schedule and plan things and know what is to come in the future. I can be as spontaneous as the next person, but as a general rule, I like to have at least an idea of what’s going to happen. Because of that, I often like making resolutions because it gives me structure in my life. (When did I get so stodgy?)

Training for a marathon
For me, odd years have tended to be better than even ones, but I am determined to make 2010 an exception to this rule. Gambatte! Aza aza fighting!
Resolutions 2010
In my 25th year of existence, I resolve to:
-
Make better use of my time.
I think I generally use my time well, but this year, I am determined to be more disciplined about it. I tend to let my enthusiasm for projects overtake me; I am notoriously great at starting a million things and then letting them overwhelm me at the expense of sleep and sanity. Art! New music! Reading! Blogging! Writing! Socializing! (I am not naturally extroverted, so I have to commit to socializing as much as anything else.)
-
Train for the NYC Marathon to run by 2011.
The original resolution was to run it this year, but that might have been a wee bit ambitious (especially as I don’t run…at all). As Psychic Roommate has also wanted to run the marathon, we are training together. We’ve started a blog called Running Roommates to keep us both accountable as we work toward this goal.
-
Finish rewriting your damned book and query agents.
Unfortunately I made this resolution last year and it never came to fruition. Nevertheless, this will be my year. I hope.
That’s it! What are everyone else’s resolutions or goals for 2010?

That’s awesome, JJ! I really want to do that someday. I hurt my foot, but as soon as I can get it to work properly, I’ll finish getting my black belt.
In the meantime, I’m teaching water aerobics. I feel so uncool.
I’m with you on #1 and #3.
Good luck! Happy Twenty-ten! :-)

I had major knee surgery in 2005 (fell 1000ft while skiing and completely destroyed it), so I know I have to be careful. But that’s really just my excuse–I’ve never liked running! ;)

I have no illusions about a marathon, but I am working on #1 and #3 this year too. Particularly #3. But I think #3 requires #1, sooo… :P

As an INFP, I can totally relate to all of that! I, too, have #’s 1 & 3 on my list of to-do’s for this year. Good luck with #2; I’ve never had the desire to run/jog/walk for 5+ hours continuously, so more power to those who do!

Happy 2010!
Fantastic resolutions, JJ! Best of luck to you! Training for a marathon? Definitely an inspirational goal.
My goals: Continue writing (which includes: querying, editing, learning, blogging, and developing a “web presence”), make healthier choices (yes, diet and exercise stuff), acknowledge the small successes as victories, and plan my next “big” trip–hmmm, Machu Picchu or Egypt…I’ve already renewed my Passport!

Goals are good; structure is nice! Focused is a better word than stodgy! ;)
My main goal in the writing arena is to accept feedback objectively and graciously, and to keep writing even through the ups and downs. And to work on differentiating between the things I can and cannot control.
I’m also going to keep on reading as many books as I can, as intentionally as I can, and keep track of all of them on my LibraryThing.
Fitness would be awesome, but I hate failing, so I think I’ll shy away from making it an actual goal. :)

Wow, a Marathon? That’s awesome. Yeah, my knees can only handle a half marathon. . . oh, and that’s WITH a cortizone shot shortly after. LOL.
No, seriously, I hope you can reach that goal, such a wonderful feeling (I’ve heard–my dad’s a marathon runner and my hubby is trying his first in TWO WEEKS!)
Here’s to a fantastic 2010!

That’s funny. “Finish rewriting your damned book and query agents” is on my list too. Almost in those same words.

Hey, I’m a E/INFJ myself, so nice to meet another of my kind. All I remember from this test is that we are supposed to make the best managers.
Good luck with your book.
