I think it’s been nearly a year since I last changed my website’s layout/design and I think I’m long overdue for another one. I’m a little tired of staring at my face behind White-Harp, although never fear, White-Harp will always be a mainstay of my design elements. My aesthetic has changed little, but I think it’s the blog design part that’s driving me a little batty. I spend so much time on Tumblr these days that this blog is feeling a little unloved, which I hope to remedy by somehow integrating the two better.
But that would involve a design overhaul, mostly because I’m disliking the blog layout. I’m all over the place when it comes to content, so I need to go for simplicity and more of a zine-like look, with articles and the like, I think. So if my blog looks kind of funky over the next couple of days, don’t mind me.
I’ve been trying to come up with a design overhaul for the past couple of weeks, but I’m not liking anything I draft up. I need something that’s minimalist and readable, but with touches of whimsy here and there. Nope, not inspired. Sigh.
Lady, you said it! I’ve been feeling this way for a while. But then I quit my job to write full-time, so I kind of realized where my priorities need to lie. I’m sure the design itch will overtake me at some point, but for now I’m keeping content with rotating monthly headers.
I know Dooce’s husband integrated Tumblr into his blog… I don’t know exactly how, but the URL is http://www.blurbomat.com if you’re interested.
