So I tried to get a few rolls of film developed, but unfortunately none of the shots came out. I think something’s up with the Canon (who still has no name, poor thing) so I need to have her checked out. :(
Nothing much going down for this Photo Friday. Haven’t had much opportunity to shoot anything, as I’d been alternating back and forth between Argos and the Canon. This week’s theme is New York City (how unoriginal, but what can you do?).

Right, so it’s been weeks since I’ve last posted a Photo Friday (Jesus, so busy), but it isn’t as though I haven’t been taking photographs. In fact, I’ve been shooting away like a busy little bee! In addition to Argos the Nikon D60, I’ve finally pulled out my mother’s old Canon EOS Rebel XS, which is a 35mm plastic SLR. The thing is nearly 20 years old, and for three years, languished at the back of my closet, forgotten and unloved. I finally replaced its battery and bought some film and have shot a few rolls, but since film seems to be passé these days I have not yet developed them.

My mother's old Canon EOS Rebel XS, who very badly needs to be named and loved.
This Canon camera needs some loving. She also needs a name. Argos was named for the hundred-eyed giant who stood watch over Io. Argos was also called Panoptes, which means “all-seeing”, and I liked that he could see things through his lenses that I would have never noticed. Suggest names for me! Feminine names, I think, because she feels entirely different in my hands.

Hey everyone! It’s me, White-Harp. JJ’s been so swamped with work and other stuff lately she’s asked me to do a guest blog post for her.
To which I say: FINALLY. It’s about time. I mean, I’m totally more famous on the internet than she is. Nobody from Twitter recognizes her in person without me in front of her face. Also, speaking of Twitter, it’s time I get an account myself, no?
Note from JJ: Not on your life.
Anyway, yesterday Psychic Roommate asked JJ if she could take me out for the day. I gave JJ my best puppy-eyed expression and she agreed. Yes! JJ never takes me anywhere. Besides, Psychic Roommate’s pretty cool and she lets me do stuff. I’m not a baby, despite what JJ says on Facebook.
White-Harp is spending the day with Psychic Roommate. I feel like an anxious mama sending her kid off to school for the first time.
Pffft, whatever. Psychic Roommate took really good care of me. No worries. Besides, if anything had happened, JJ would have dumped her body into the East River.
Photos under the cut!

Whoops, I missed last week’s Photo Friday. Well, no matter, I didn’t have any decent photos to show you anyway. I’m glad I don’t have to do any strenuous blogging today because about 60% of my brain is devoted to the USA vs. Slovenia match going on right now. (And we’re sucking balls.) Summer Friday and I’m at work for 3 hours, but it’s the 3 hours during which the game is being played. >:-(
EDITED TO ADD: WHAT THE FUCK RUBBISH CALL WAS THAT? WE WERE FUCKING ROBBED. ROBBED. THAT WAS A WIN. REF NEEDS TO BE SHOT.
This week’s theme in photography appears to be Fashion and Nature. (What can I say? I like fashion.)

Shot this as I was flying back to NYC from California. The US Southwest is stunning from above.

How on earth did it get to be Friday again without me blogging? I AM A BAD BLOGGER ACK. It seems as though I am only able to consistently do Photo Fridays, which is pretty terrible. Anyway, this week’s theme is fashion (especially shoes). Also, Karen Healey‘s signing at Books of Wonder.

You will see a lot of these shoes in this post. Because they're amazing.
