    Website History

Despite the fact that I blog semi-religiously at Moot Point, I felt as though I needed my own little corner of the internet to stretch my limbs. When my friend Tara offered to host me on her domain Aigoo-Chamna.net, I was flattered. Uncreated Conscience takes its title from a phrase in James Joyce’s A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man and first opened in 2007.

    Webdesign

I first discovered the joys of website building back in 2002. I had long toyed with the idea of having a blog and I thought a website would be a great place to house one. My initial website was crafted at, yes, Geocities, with a design ripped off from a pre-made layout site that I can no longer remember the name or URL of. I plunged headlong into the wonderful world of HTML, CSS, and PHP without a single clue as to what the hell I was doing. I went and browsed other personal websites with designs I loved, made friends with the nifty View > Page Source too and began to learn by stealing codes from other people.

In 2003/2004, I purchased a domain called A Campaign of Misinformation, the name taken from a quote from The X-Files.

I did not lie. I merely participated in a campaign of misinformation.

Unfortunately, the process of keeping up a website is absolutely exhausting and as I was consumed by my undergraduate studies and recovering from knee surgery, I let the domain die and did not renew it.
